The most fun you can have in a group is playing with other musicians. The fun is doubled when you all play the same instrument! As a performing cellist, I soon realized that my favorite music was repertoire I would never get to play: vocal music of the Renaissance. I decided to arrange my most-loved pieces for the cello quartet I have taught for many years and Luckhardt Editions was born. We publish scores of Renaissance and Baroque jewels for 3, 4, 5 or more celli, focusing on works for voice, highlighting the beauty of the poetry in the choral setting. Difficulty is intermediate; the top voice must be able to play up to 4th position easily.
Of course, I also love teaching this music and currently lead two cello ensembles through the inspiring discovery of this beautiful music.
